The world in a crescendo scale

When did their opinions start to matter more than yours?
When did this little voice become so small that you can’t even hear it anymore?

When did you switch this bright, innocent smile for someone whose face you don’t even recognize?
When did you accept this reality as just a series of compromises?

When did the word ‘justice’ become so weak,
in the eyes of those who are supposed to uphold it?
And the normalization of governors’ hypocrisy,
turning a blind eye to violence and cruelty.

In front of the world, innocents are dying,
while the most powerful in their palace are hiding.
In the name of the divine, they are complicit,
Closing their eyes in front of illicit.

In this age of advanced science and technology,
the world has never been so lost and unhappy.
Shallow relationships being entertained,
in this dance of deceit, they like to pretend.
Individuals severing connections for a higher digital number on a screen,
as if the illusion of status could replace connections most genuine.

And how can people remain so silent,
witnessing the torture and extermination of innocents…
Leaving a country blank on a map,
with everyone falling into the trap.
In this world where truth can simply be manipulated,
And where villains can be so easily created.

As I write these words, I can’t help but feel sad,
For how this world has turned so bad.
And I couldn’t close my eyes, pretending to be blind,
As most stopped using their minds…

In the name of humanity,
I can’t help but remain hopeful.
I long to see
A world more peaceful.
With compassion and love as our priority,
So the world can be a place of safety.
